Join our lab team as Histology Tech! Job Title: Histology Technician III Location: Salem Pathology Lab Typical Schedule: Varied Mondays – Fridays, 8:00am – 5:00pm General Description of All Benefits: Health Insurance – medical, dental, and vision with HSA, FSA options 401k - employer matching up to 4% Life Insurance – employer paid & voluntary options 8 paid holidays per year Tiered PTO accrual 80 – 200 hours annually Complimentary parking Pet insurance voluntary option Employee Assistance Program provided Qualifications: Histotechnician training available! HS Diploma or GED, and 3 months related healthcare experience or trade school equivalent Preferred: Experience as a Histotech or HT (ASCP) eligible Required: Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science Some duties may include: Accession specimens for grossing Gross examination and dissection of skin specimen for tissue processing Prepare skin tissue specimens for microscopic examination Process and embed samples Section paraffin-embedded samples Prepare reagents, solutions, control slides, and special stains Accurately label tissue samples and slides Other duties as assigned, including performing routine maintenance and cleaning, filing slides and blocks Our lab must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment while adhering to OSHA/CLIA requirements Our histotechnicians/histotechnologists must have the ability to work efficiently with other team members to meet daily processing deadlines, be highly organized, and extremely detail oriented.
