Support our lab team through vital administrative work while gaining exposure to specialized laboratory functions.  Job Title: Histology Technician I Location: Salem Pathology Lab Typical Schedule: Varied Mondays – Fridays, 8:00am – 5:00pm Position Status: Temporary 6-month role with potential for long-term employment based on business needs and evaluation General Description of All Benefits: Health Insurance – medical, dental, and vision with HSA, FSA options 401k - employer matching up to 4% Life Insurance – employer paid & voluntary options 8 paid holidays per year Tiered PTO accrual 80 – 200 hours annually Complimentary parking Pet insurance voluntary option Employee Assistance Program provided Qualifications: HS Diploma or GED, and 3 months related healthcare experience or trade school equivalent Preferred: Experience as a Histotech or HT (ASCP) eligible Some duties may include: Accession specimens for grossing Prepare skin tissue specimens for microscopic examination Accurately label tissue samples and slides Possible crossing training in processing and embed samples, sectioning paraffin-embedded samples, and preparing reagents, solutions, control slides, and special stains Other duties as assigned, including performing routine maintenance and cleaning, filing slides and blocks Our lab must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment while adhering to OSHA/CLIA requirements Our histotechnicians/histotechnologists must have the ability to work efficiently with other team members to meet daily processing deadlines, be highly organized, and extremely detail oriented.
